The identity of the District, which after the European Capital of Culture title year remained as a permanent spatial legacy to the city, was built on the hundred-year industrial heritage of Novi Sad. This newly formed centre of artistic creation is a combination of former industrialization and the city’s rich art scene. The district is also the place where the biggest multimedia gallery and UNESCO Media Arts Centre will soon be. Also a  relevant number of Media Arts programs are taking place in the District including the permanent new media arts exhibition: 100 years of District. This multimedia and permanent exhibition, dramatizes and thematizes the space of the District through time. Through six thematically, experientially, artistically and content-differently treated, as well as physically separated rooms, dedicated to specific periods, the audience, through interaction with the rooms, have the opportunity to a greater or lesser extent, to learn something new, to remember the old and forgotten, to participates directly, to play and explore, with their senses and body.
